Bag for me, bag for baby...

A couple of things I'm pining over online...

1. A nice camera bag. The one I have right now is too small for my new camera, plus it's U-GLY. This super cute teal one is from Jo Totes, and from what I can tell it's just the right size for my Canon, plus my purse stuff, cell, and maybe a diaper or 2 (I mostly want it for lugging my camera around on an everyday basis, since right now I put it in my non-padded purse and it freaks me out so much!) Plus it appears to be affordable compared to a lot of other 'lady camera bags' I'm seeing out there, so I plan on using some of my session money to buy it. Lovesit.

2. Cute bibs. We fed Victor cereal for the first time today (yay, solids!), and it made me realize that we're going to need a lot more bibs around here (we already use at least 2 a day from drool alone!) This cute one is from the BabyMomo shop on Etsy, but I'll probably end up buying a set somewhere cheaper, I can't justify spending over 10$ for one bib...unless I learn how to make them myself?

3. Photography-nerd shirts. Kara posted a photo of her wearing this shirt from 40/60 Photography the other day on her blog and I looooved it immediately. It's kind of silly, but I think I might splurge with some of my session money and buy it :)

4. Smelly diaper storage. One thing I can justify buying for Victor (and for myself!) is a Wet/Ick bag.  Right now when we're on the road I just use a plastic bag to store his wet cloth diapers, but it's loud and annoying and smelly, so I think a cute wetbag like this is just what I need.  This one is from Monkeyfootdesigns on Etsy, and I think it would be just the right size, and I love the fabric (plus it would match my new camera bag/purse/diaper bag, ha!)

I haven't window-shopped online (especially on Etsy) in forever, it feels nice!  What are you oogling over on the Internets lately?

The sunshine of your love

Since it's so gray and cloudy and snowy out, I thought I would brighten up my day by going through all the pics I've been collecting for the past few weeks for my friend Heather (no, I'm not getting married again, lol) She's getting married in August (!!) and chose yellow and white as her wedding colours (tentatively anyway). Ever since then I've been scouring wedding sites trying to find all things yellow and bright, and wow, there are some beautiful things out there! Above is a collage of images I found on The Knot, my go-to site when I got married back in '06, and Green Wedding Shoes, one of many amazing blogs with all sorts of wedding eye candy (including all the photos below, sorry I didn't save individual links!)

One of the biggest regrets I have from my wedding (not that there were many), was that I didn't invest in a professional photographer (I had my neighbour's mother do our shots and she did a great job for what she had to work with, but it wasn't pro by any means.) I wasn't as interested in photography back then so I didn't realize how important to me it would be become to have those amazing, artsy, fun and beautiful shots that you see all over the place today. To me, it's the best way to remember the day (especially when your memory is as bad as mine!) So I'm telling Heather, over and over, to make sure she's got a good photographer booked and to be bold with her choices (go beyond the traditional poses, go romantic, go goofy, go big!) I'm hoping that she and I will get to do our own shoot after the wedding as well, and I'm already dreaming about what we could do (trash the dress, another dress sessions, post-wedding engagement session, ha)

I've also been checking Etsy for accessories, invites, etc, since supporting handmade is always great and there are so many creative options out there for weddings. Again, I'm probably being a bit bolder with my choices for Heather than I was with myself, but I guess looking back I'm realizing that you only get one chance at a wedding (hopefully!), so it's no time to not have fun, do what you want and make as magical as you can.

A Pair of Prints.

These lovelies will soon be arriving at my door (an early Christmas present to myself, ha!) I love Ashley G's work, and when I saw she was having a BOGO sale in celebration of her 10,000th sale (!) on Etsy, I knew I had to take the opportunity to snatch a pair up. The one on the left is for me, and the one on the right is for the baby's room, I thought that the green would go well with the nursery colour scheme (the non-existent nursery, but you know what I mean...)

Today I picked up a few supplies for my craft-and-eat-a-thon tomorrow, picked up some pictures that I had printed (and will probably return later this week, they came out way too dark), and washed some more baby clothes :)

Oh, and took my 24.5 Week shots (I have to take .5 shots from now since it's dark by the time I get home on Tuesday, boo to winter!)

Definitely getting bigger, I just read today that in 1.5 weeks I'll be starting my 3rd trimester, holy moly! Not much time left now...

Chilly? Need some warmth?

In anticipation of the Christmas season, Heather and I are listing everything in our shop at 25% off! So if you're looking for some cute knits or a great Christmas gift, be sure to check out our shop!

Today it's rainy and grey, but I'm heading to Michael's (again) to get some more Christmas gift supplies, then hopefully this afternoon I'll pull out my sewing machine to attempt a few projects, I really need to learn to not be afraid of it, but I'm such a newbie when it comes to sewing that if my mom isn't around for support, I get kind of freaked out. And don't even get me started on stitching by hand!

Tonight Dan and I are going to see Billy Bragg. I can't say that I'm the hugest fan but it's always fun to have a night out with the husband, so I'm sure I'll enjoy myself.

I'm also almost done by December Daily, I'm just waiting for the Vintage number tags to show up in the mail so that I can add them, along with a few other embellies that I might purchase today, but the bones are done and I'm very happy and excited to start filling it starting in 2 weeks (seriously, where is November going?!)

I'll be back tomorrow to post my felted sweater wreath that I mentioned last time, I just need to add a bow and it'll be ready for presenting :)

The table has re-opened...

I completely forgot to post this, but a couple of weeks ago Heather and I decided to re-list the items that we didn't sell last year from our Etsy Shop, La table carré. We have 6 items up for sale now, with a few more waiting to be posted later on...I'm not sure if anything new will be included, with us being on opposite sides of the country and me having no motivation without her, but these cold-weather items are still wonderful and would make great Christmas presents! Yay for October!!

This is my absolute favourite month, I love everything about it...beautiful leaves, chilly weather (it really hasn't been that cold here yet, and the leaves haven't begun to change dramatically, but I'm hoping that'll change soon), the colours, smells, food, holidays...what's not to love?! I can't wait and hope that it doesn't fly by too quickly.

(I also think part of the reason why I'm loving it so much is because I feel much better now than I did a month ago, the sickness is almost all gone and I'm way less tired, so yay to that as well!)

I'm reeeeeally itching to buy something off of Etsy lately, the last purchase I made was back in June, and that was the fabric for a blanket I haven't started :S There are so many wonderful things, and my eye is particluarly drawn to anything dark/Fall/Halloween-ish. Check out these beautes:

So this month I am hoping to:
-Pick a pumpkin and some apples
-Compete a few Halloween packages for friends
-Make a spice cake from MS (Dan loved it last year and insists I make it again)
-Travel home for Thanksgiving at the camp
-Get started on my blankets
-Take lots of walks outside; one more out of town trip with Dan
-Go over my wardrobe and get ready for...eek...maternity clothes
-Watch at least 5 scary movies with Dan
-Participate in at least one Halloween-type activity
-Decorate my house
-Watch all my Halloween favourites, including It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, Treehouse of Horrors (all 20 of them!), and Nightmare Before Christmas
-Wear my sweater dress with tights
-Find a pair of cute (flat heeled) boots
-Try to savour every second of this wonderful enchanting season.

Anyway, should be a fairly busy weekend for us here; I'm meeting up with my friend John (aka my Spain buddy) tonight, whom I haven't seen in over 2 years, it's crazy!

Tomorrow my mom and grand-mama are coming for the weekend (yay!). Hoping to do some sight-seeing, sewing and catching up with them, should be really fun! Then I have Monday off, so I'm going to try and catch up on some of my to-dos, can't wait!

I know it's kind of early....

but I am soooo looking forward to September and this Fall. I've already said a couple of times in the last few months that I am SO OVER this Summer and its crappy, rainy weather, and because of that trauma my mind has completely skipped August and is now yearning for Autumn.

Now, luckily for me, I will be absent for most of August since I will be over in Europe livin' it up (4 days!!!), so by the time I get back and get over my jet lag, it will be September and I can officially begin my 2 months of sheer bliss (there's really no other way to describe it, I can't stress enough how much I love this Season.) Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to hanging out on the beaches of Croatia and roaming the hot summer streets of Rome and Florence, over there I will indulge in all that Summer has to offer, but as for here in Nova Scotia, Summer is dead to me (ha!)

Anyway, in my Fall daydreams I often think about:

*sweaters and coats with hoods

*a chill in the air (the best feeling)

*wearing layers

*drinking coffee to warm up

*finger gloves

*shorter days

*beautiful rich colours

*leaves

*candles at night

*pumpkins and corn

*golden fields and bare branches

*tv shows returning

*back to school and regular routines

*the most beautiful light of the year

*cinnamon and spice smell

*thanksgiving and halloween

*being out in nature and not feeling uncomfortable from bugs, mugginess or heat

*boots

*martha stewart magazine (October's edition especially)

*comfort foods and special meals

*decorating and crafts

*feeling happy and giddy while walking home from work

and so much more.

Is anyone else looking forward to Fall?

Anyway, I'll try to get on and blog (or more likely Tweet) a couple of times while I'm in Italy, but I'm betting that the lack of Internet access and the abundance of AWESOMENESS is going to keep me away from the online world, which is a very, very good thing. *I was talking with my friend Heather last night (the one who moved out West in February to pursue her dreams of working for herself) and she has been crazy inspiring me ever since. We had a talk last night about coming up with our Life Goals in various area of life (Financial, Relationships, Appearance and Health, Career, Personal Development, etc) and then creating Weekly Goals to work towards those Goals. Totally up my alley. We are going to be each other's accountability partners, checking in every week to see how we are coming along. I finished mine today and I must say that I'm super psyched to see how it all goes. Something is shifting inside me, the perspective of my life is changing, I can feel it, I have career dreams like I've never had before, so I'm very excited and optimistic about the future (as early as next year...)
