A scrap related post! Finally!

I'm back!!

After nearly a month hiatus (or it felt like a month anyway), I finally got my new scrap space organized and created a few things. It's not much, (not an 'official page') but it felt so GOOD to create again, like a part of me that was missing is back (sounds corny, but it's true!) For the last couple of weeks it really felt like I was bottling up all these ideas and urges to scrap, but because I had packed all my stuff up I couldn't do anything, and now it's just trying to get out as quickly as possible. I hope to be able to keep up and focus long enough before the inspiration is gone! Anyway, without further ado, the first one:

Inspired by the ever wonderful old lady in a teenager, I took a page from an old Winnie the Pooh book I bought and painted over it, letting the image and the text peek through a little. Then, I used my new FAV scrapping item, masking tape (soo inspired by Silje with this), and covered it up some more. Inked it with some pink, added some Love Elsie PP (so cute), added a few little ditties here and there, and there you have it, my first project in the new house...I'm going to staple it into my Art Journal, since I don't have a sewing machine (yet.) It pretty much sums up my life right now: messy, bright and happy :)

And, although I know this probably isn't smart, here's something else I created tonight, a little card I scanned in and am going to email to all our friends and family to let them know where we are (please, no stalkers, hahaha)

Also, here are a few shots of my new space; again, it's not much, and I have a feeling I'm going to need more room pretty soon, but for now it's just nice to have a space to create that's not the dining room table!

I used my old school desk, and since there was a space between it and the wall because of the heaters, I put a board that we had in our storage room (already painted the awesome blue colour), and covered up the space; now I have all my baskets and boxes up on a little platform. I added my wire and pics to the wall, the awesome chair paper that I got in Toronto, and a clipboard to write down any lists, Challenges I want to do or inspiration, and voila! Small, but perfect for me...all I need is a chair.

My 365:

Oh yeah. Life is sweet. Here's why:

-I have ALL my laundry done. All of it, people. Sheets, towels, dishcloths, sweaters, EVERYTHING. This is the first time since I've moved away from home that it's been like this. I love love love my clothesline and washer/dryer. Yes, love!

-We aren't poor. I know money isn't supposed to buy you happiness, but it certainly can ease a lot of worries!! We are saving, spending, splurging, enjoying and most importantly, NOT worrying. We keep thinking that there's something huge we must be missing because after all the bills are paid, we still have lots of money leftover...sooo not usual for us, for 2 years we were the paycheque-to-paycheque kinda people, and now we're not. It's amazing. Rock the $$!

-We found out today that my awesome brother and sister in law very generously used their airmiles to book us 2 tickets to California to visit them in August!! So amazing, it's going to be sooo much fun to see them and spend some time with just the 2 of them (usually we are in big Flynn family reunion type settings), and to see my 2nd eldest neveu, Noah! Cali, here we come!

-We LOVE our new place. It's about as good as it can get without owning your own house or renting a house (which is crazy expensive.) Lots of room, character, privacy, and it just feels right. I love waking up in the morning and looking out my window to the bridge, with the sunlight just pouring in (soo much great light in this place!) I hope to do lots more decorating (only the bathroom done so far), and to do some painting/fixing up this summer. Also, we'll get a little pet eventually. Pics coming soon!

Ok, that's it. Going to the SPCA tomorrow to help Heather pick out a brother or sister for lonely ole Eko, then to VV for some shopping fun! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Cheers to creating :)
